About Eleonora

Eleonora is Senior Scientific Manager in the Climate Simulation and Prediction division at the Foundation Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC). She is a member of the Italian delegation and EU team of negotiators at the UN climate negotiations (UNFCCC), which led to the Paris Agreement in 2015. She is also a Board Member of the Adaptation Fund (UNFCCC) and Advisory Board Member of the Lifeboat Foundation. With over 10 years of experience working with businesses and governments, Eleonora has gained a unique perspective on the challenges and the potential opportunities created by climate change.

She holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from Trento University and a MSc in Environmental Management from Aalborg University. In 2016, she completed an MBA at IE Business School. In 2017, she won Italy’s Global Impact Challenge and participated in Singularity University’s Global Solutions Program in Silicon Valley.

    Climate change is the greatest challenge facing humanity today. Like technology, it will have a disruptive effect on companies, organizations, communities around the world. 

    Over the next 10 years we need to undertake a deep and systemic change which will present multiple opportunities for entrepreneurs and companies to be at the forefront of the transformation required.

    The talk focuses on key sectors contributing to climate change such as energy, manufacturing, food, transportation, and explores how exponential technologies can be enabling forces for the innovations required to create a carbon neutral planet where everyone can prosper.
