Christyna Serrano received her Ph.D. in Education Policy from the University of California, Berkeley. (Go Bears!) She has also worked at Berkeley to both design and teach on-ground and online courses for six years, on which she has published and presented her research at conferences on teaching and learning. Before coming to Singularity University (SU), Christyna worked in higher education assisting faculty and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with the design and development of online courses for Digital Learning Initiatives, the implementation of faculty professional development workshops, institutional accreditation, policy development and analysis, assessment, institutional research and data analysis, and learning design.
As the Director of Faculty Engagement at SU, Christyna’s role includes fostering faculty collaborations to drive convergent thinking; assisting faculty in developing new sessions for SU’s Test Kitchen; exploring partnerships with faculty and SMEs who want to work with SU to build content, curriculum, and or programs; and working with faculty, SMEs, and the Curriculum and Learning Design Team to facilitate and perform quality assurance checks on content creation to align with SU’s curriculum.
Christyna enjoys playing strategy board games with her husband, and 14 and 7-year-old sons, dancing, spinning and jumping on rollerskates to music, Muay Thai, lifting weights, and a good chai latte.
