James is the Head of Revenue and Publishing at Singularity Group and the publisher of both Futurism.com and Singularity Hub. Futurism is one of the largest future-focused science and technology news sites in the world, garnering over 8m visitors a month and covering everything from AI to blockchain, CRISPR to rocket launches, and everywhere in between. Singularity Hub is similarly themed, with an eye towards sharing the stories and voices that are most relevant to Singularity’s network of thinkers and doers. The small (but mighty!) editorial teams publish 10+ articles per day, and their newsletters and social channels reach hundreds of thousands of future fans daily.
James has a background in digital advertising and experiential marketing, with a knack for using events and digital products to tell brand stories. He believes that every organization should have a vision of the future, and it’s Futurism’s job to help tell that story to the larger world via sponsored content, advertorial video, sponsored events, and custom banner executions. Previously, he was the Executive Director of [email protected], one of the first digital branded content studios and an early pioneer in the field of native advertising. He’s been quoted in advertising and media trade press, such as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Digiday, AdWeek, AdAge, PandoDaily, and Sports Business Journal, and he’s spoken at events for NPR, the IAB, AdMonsters, iMedia, the VCU Brandcenter, and Advertising Week.
James received a BA in Individualized Study from NYU’s Gallatin School and lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where Futurism is also headquartered.
