Director, Program Operations, GSP
Manuel Orellana has a predilection for big thinking and impact and a passion for producing experiences for people who want to use emerging disruptive technologies to positively impact the world. In his role as Director of Program Operations of the SU Global Solutions Program (GSP), a 10-week intensive program, Manuel manages all program operations and logistics – a skillset he honed while producing special events for entrepreneurs and corporate executives.
Manuel graduated from UC Berkeley and received a BA in American Studies with an emphasis in Corporate Social Responsibility. During his undergraduate career, he served as a Resident Assistant for Summer Bridge (a rigorous academic and residential program that aids the transition from high school to college for first generation college students). Additionally, he served as the Treasurer and later as the President for the Multi-Cultural Greek Council of the Fraternity & Sorority Life community. Within these capacities, he led fundraising initiatives, organized social and cultural awareness workshops, planned statewide conferences, and produced large-scale community-building events.
Manuel’s professional history includes special events for high-profile clients and award shows (Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, etc.), as well as brand promoter for experiential marketing initiatives.
When he is not managing the GSP, you may find Manuel salsa dancing, learning photography, taking spontaneous road trips to exciting destinations, and as a self-proclaimed foodie, exploring new restaurants.
