Sociologist/Human Behavior expert
Abby Larson is a Ph.D. in sociology from New York University with expertise in boundary-spanning research on questions related to innovation, cognition, and learning among individuals and institutions in the knowledge economy. Her research interests include perception and emotion, knowledge and technology, and social cohesion and system sustainability, with funding from organizations such as the National Science Foundation among others. Dr. Larson has held fellowships at universities including Harvard, Stanford, and the University of California, Berkeley, and has helped to launch novel labs and centers to advance science in the service of the public good at universities such as NYU and Columbia, receiving grant funding for these efforts from foundations such as Ford, Carnegie, Gates, and MacArthur, among others. She works in Spanish, French, and German.
