Dr. Justin Pahara is a Cree scientist-entrepreneur from Alberta, Canada. With a background in immunology, cell biology, and biotechnology, he earned degrees from the University of Alberta and a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge. Justin's career spans academia and industry, focusing on genetic engineering and synthetic biology.

His entrepreneurial journey began after attending Singularity University's Graduate Studies Program in 2010. Justin co-founded Synbiota, a DNA technology startup, and later joined Amino Labs, an MIT Media Lab spinout making genetic engineering accessible to non-scientists.

Justin has been involved in various entrepreneurship environments, including biotech accelerators RebelBio and IndieBio, and helped establish Do-It-Yourself Bio labs in Canada. He participated in the International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) competition and mentored others in similar programs.

Justin is an Emerging Leader of Biosecurity Initiative (ELBI) Alumni, a Member at Standards Council of Canada, and leads a nanotechnology program in the Government of Canada.
