Tiago Mattos is an entrepreneur, author, and teacher. He is considered the most prominent futurist in Brazil.
As an entrepreneur, he has been part of the founding teams of various new economy initiatives: big data labs, digital platforms, coworking spaces, accelerators, in-class interaction apps, innovation schools, among others.
As an author, he had his first book listed as a bestseller within the first week. In 2020, he was invited to participate in the Brazilian edition of the anthology ’Letter to My Younger Self,’ alongside contributions from Paul McCartney, Jamie Oliver, Arianna Huffington, Ozzy Osbourne, and eighty other international figures. He was an innovation columnist for Época Negócios and for FastCompany Brasil.
As an educator/speaker, he was the first Brazilian to join the expert team at Singularity University (USA). He was also a guest lecturer at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel) and the University of Lisbon (Portugal). His keynotes have engaged audiences across all five continents. In 2018, he was invited to share insights at the United Nations in Geneva.
As a futurist, Tiago has developed numerous theses and tools on the subject, with some of his forecasts gaining significant media attention. His work has influenced the strategic directions of dozens of organizations in Brazil. Internationally, he has been invited to participate in leadership meetings at companies such as Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Fiat/Chrysler, Merck, ABI/Ambev, among others.
Tiago gives approximately one hundred classes/lectures annually. Each January, he refreshes virtually all of his content - a way to keep learning and seeking out fresh perspectives.
In this session, participants will learn about a new business concept called futurestech. Unlike fintechs, foodtechs and edtechs, where the tag is associated with the market they operate in (financial, food, education), the concept of futurestech is transversal. It is a lens through which to view the world, not just a description. Therefore, a fintech can be a futurestech, a foodtech can be a futurestech and an edtech can be a futurestech.
For a company to be considered futurestech, it needs to have a futurist repertoire, a futurist culture, a futurist strategy and a systematization of these three pillars. This is exactly what the session aims to address. Tiago Mattos will present a series of AI-powered platforms that, together, allow any leader not only to understand the definition of each of these concepts but also to apply them in practice.
For example, in the context of futurist culture, Tiago will introduce a proprietary artificial intelligence that captures employees’ emotions and transforms them into data. This enables a diagnosis of how each team member perceives the company and helps to understand the aspirational vision of the culture. From this, an action plan can be created to transform a traditional culture into a truly futurist one.
In this four-hour session, participants will leave with a solid understanding of the concept of futurestech, as well as the pillars that support it. They will also gain insight into the tools needed to apply these principles in practice. And they will no longer see the world of business as they used to.
