HSM and Singularity University Partner to Launch SingularityU Brazil
SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL/MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIF., USA – JUNE 10, 2019 – Singularity University (SU), a global community with a mission to educate, inspire, and empower leaders to apply exponential technologies to help solve humanity’s grand challenges, today announced a partnership with HSM, its first Latin America Country Partner, and the launch of SingularityU Brazil. Based in São Paulo, SingularityU Brazil will work with local governments, educational institutions, foundations, non-government organizations, and other leaders to address learning, public security, and infrastructure challenges. In addition, SingularityU Brazil will collaborate with other corporate sponsors in partnership with SU to accelerate the pace of innovation in the country.“This partnership aims to accelerate innovation in Brazil by enabling a team of change agents to deliver localized versions of SU’s programs, events, and community activities in their own country,” said Rob Nail, CEO and associate founder of Singularity University. “By applying exponential technologies to Brazil’s challenges in learning, health, public security, and infrastructure, while also accelerating innovation in areas of strength such as food, energy, environment, and finance, SingularityU Brazil can ignite exponential societal and economic growth in Brazil.”Brazil joins a growing global network of business partners across Europe, Africa, and Canada. Local experts on the newly formed SingularityU Brazil faculty will deliver localized versions of SU’s flagship programs, such as the Executive Program and enterprise solutions. Programs delivered in Portuguese will be made available in multiple physical locations across Brazil. In addition in Brazil, Singularity has an agreement to offer online courses with the American company Adtalem, parent company of Ibmec.“This SU partnership aligns with HSM’s mission to transform Brazil by educating and developing leaders and will provide Brazilian executives and entrepreneurs access to the highly regarded portfolio of SU programs,” said Guilherme Soárez, CEO of HSM. “Our vision is to transform the way that our leaders think about the future and to guide and equip them to successfully build new capabilities at exponential speed.”Faculty will be certified by Singularity University in exponential technologies, leadership, innovation, and organizational transformation best practices. The plan includes the development of a physical lab and classroom space to host courses, lectures, workshops, events. The team will facilitate connections between startups, innovation labs, co-working spaces, and other related projects. Programs will begin in the second half of 2019.Brazilians are invited to attend the SingularityU Brazil Summit, on June 11-12 in São Paulo where the theme will be "Leapfrogging Brazil into the Exponential World" and where eight distinct global grand challenges—energy, health, food, learning, environment, prosperity, security, and governance—will be addressed.
